The drive through the mountains is truly a magical and breathtaking
experience with the snow capped mountains and native forest running
down to the numerous lakes and rivers.
On reaching Arthurs Pass, a beautiful alpine village set in the
national park, it is a 45min drive down the rugged Otira gorge and
through the pristine west coast bush (rainforest).
An alternative is to catch the world famous Tranzalpine Train listed
among the top 8 train journeys in the world. The train passes below
the lodge and pick up can be arranged from one of 2 stops near the
lodge.
